What if I've never thrown before?

No experience needed! Before you throw, our staff will give you a quick safety briefing, walk you through the techniques, explain house rules, and be there to assist with anything you need — including food and drinks. Get ready to throw like a pro and have a great time!

Is axe throwing safe?

Accepted Answer

Safety is our top priority, and we've designed our facility with that in mind. Each throwing lane is fully enclosed with floor-to-ceiling fencing, and only one axe is allowed per lane to ensure a controlled environment. Before your session begins, our staff will guide you through a brief safety training to help you throw with confidence. While no sport is entirely risk-free, our team closely monitors every session to keep the experience safe, fun, and worry-free — even from yourself!

What if I need to cancel my reservation?

We understand that plans can change! To receive a full refund, we ask that cancellations be made at least 48 hours in advance. If you need to cancel within 48 hours, you may receive a refund in the form of a gift card or have the option to reschedule for a later date.

Question 4

How many people can throw in my lane?

Accepted Answer

Each lane is designed to comfortably accommodate 2–5 throwers, but we can allow up to 6 if needed.

How much do games cost?

In addition to axe throwing, we offer a variety of free games! Some games, like darts, require a few quarters to play. You'll also find pull tabs and a Hunt Challenge Simulator, and the MultiSport Simulator bay can be booked for up to eight players at $50 for a one-hour session.

What should I wear?

Closed-toed shoes are required for safety. Beyond that, we recommend wearing comfortable clothing, as you'll lift your arms overhead while throwing.

Do I have to make a reservation? What if I just want to walk in?

Reservations are highly recommended to ensure a lane for your group. However, walk-ins are always welcome during our regular hours, based on lane availability. We also offer special events and private parties during open hours and will do our best to accommodate your schedule. Contact us for more details!

Is there an age limit?

Hatchet House of Bemidji is a family-friendly venue, and while there's no strict age limit, we recommend throwers be at least 10 years old with parents' permission to ensure they have the strength to hit the target and stick the axe. Please note that age restrictions may apply during peak hours and evening sessions.

Can we bring our own food or drinks?

We've got you covered with a full bar and delicious food, including local Keith's pizza, beer cheese & pretzels, liquor selection, craft beers, non-alcoholic options, and Coke products. For safety reasons, if we determine that a guest is too intoxicated to throw safely, they will not be allowed to participate — no exceptions. Private events are allowed to cater from a licensed establishment. Contact us for details.

Can we take pictures and videos?
